6m Sportie Challenge
After discussions with family and friends, I felt compelled to put some ideas for a 6m sports boat into the works. So an hour later for each, these are the results. Still a bit of work to go into them before I'm happy though.
The chamfer in the foredeck of the chined hull is nice, and distinctive, but needs a little fine tuning. Will add something similar to the other hull too.
There are quite a few of this size being built around the place atm.

It has begun...

The holiday boat build. All going to plan it should be a reasonably quick build with only the hull to assemble, then we can plug in the existing foils, wings and rig.

New Mountain Bike!
Am loving the new bike, it is a Giant Talon. I'm gonna try for a thousand km's this year (off-road ofcourse), should be easy, only 20 per week. Considering a trip to Rotorua, New Zealand next year, have only heard good things about it so far.
There is a new moth build going on over the coming holidays. I've only got a bit part in the design but I do like it so far. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out. Hopefully the recycled parts don't compromise the performance too much...mad moth skillz and a half decent foil setup should get you into the top ten at a nationals or worlds anyway.

Speed Sailing
Interesting times at the moment in the speed sailing challenge. Kite-surfers, windsurfers, a proa and 'reverse proa' are fighting it out with the kite-surfers and windsurfers currently at the top. Despite this, Sail Rocket has just torn "a new asshole in speed sailing" (classic) and anyone who saw the video of the original prototype model should not be surprised. It'd be great to see Macquarie Innovation have a go in the next few months, it and Sail Rocket show more promise than the wind and kite surfers.

Formula 12 - Tabby Cat
The Formula 12 class is starting up internationally with some very keen amateur builders laminating away in their sheds. These are renders of one I designed the hull shape and basic
laminate for called the Tabby. It looks a little fat but it seems to go alright. One has been built by Ake in Finland (http://www.gust.ax/gallery/f12/2/) and he is very happy with it. There is talk of building a mould of it to produce a few solid FRP boats for local clubs and kids.
